Great post Sandi. I love that you had a parent who advised you that you can do anything you want to do. My mom always told me the same thing and that’s why I believe in myself. It’s sad but true, there are SO many people who are part of the sucky system and want everyone else to be there too, simply because it’s what they were taught. It frustrates me when people talk about their degree or how life stinks because they didn’t get their degree, when I’m thinking 65% of people with a degree don’t even get a job in the field they studied and the person who believes he is no where because he doesn’t have a degree is bull! The passion inside of someone is what will make them successful and nothing else, well and God’s grace.

Great post. I actually quit teaching (1 year ago) because I was so frustrated/disillusioned with the system. Just finished Linchpin and felt the same “ignition” you speak of. In addition to my regular business pursuits I think I might help launch a charter school that does just the work he (and you in your recent posts about working with young people) talk about.

Thanks for sharing your story – and thanks for sharing your dreams with us.

WOW.. What a great story Sandi. I can imagine what you went through and awesome to see when we know what we want in life what we can do! Sometimes belief in ourselves can lead to creating the success others do not even imagine.

I was like you in some way. Stubborn. Never wanted to settle for house and family only. As my mentor said I had ants in my pants. Thanks for sharing with us and also Seth Godin book. I am going to get it

Sandi … What can I say about the tears that are running down my cheeks – You and I have alot in common on life experiences and to hear it said like you put it makes me know that I know I am not like every one else for a very special reason. You my friend are such a winner and such a teacher – i have loved loved loved learning from you.

Wow, Sandi! I had never heard your story before, amazing! Isn't it incredible the resilience of human beings to go through so much and if we learn from it, rather than become victims of it, we rise to the top?

My issues were a bit different and I didn't go through as much as you, in the same way. But, still in all the point is we all go through a lot growing up and some of us bounce back and some do not. Wonder why that is? It is because we "choose" to.

I'm am excited for your class next week on WordPress and look forward to the rewards of implementing the strategies and using the tools you present.

Thanks Sandi, for sharing and exposing the real Sandi, it helps everyone understand why and who and what you are. It gives everyone permission to be who they are, some have never had that permission.
