Why Your Future is Hanging In The Balance If You Listen To The Cultural Hypnosis of Poverty…
It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to discover someone within one mile of your house who is negative, pessimistic and the third cousin- skeptical at best. The fruit has been harvested of seeds long ago- and far too many people who are waiting for a bail-out of life are now sinking into despair realizing their ‘savior’ hasn’t come and their job isn’t doing what it promised.

- [adj] attracting and holding interest as if by a spell; “read the bedtime story in a hypnotic voice”; “she had a warm mesmeric charm”; “the sheer force of his presence was mesmerizing”; “a spellbinding description of life in ancient Rome”
Recently I was watching John Maxwell teach on leadership. As he began to teach on the necessity to continue growing in business and constantly be moving forward he made this statement.
People have always asked me, ‘Who is your mentor?’ my reply is always, ‘I don’t have one.‘
He went onto say that he has worked with millions of leaders, he has been contracted in to speak to major Fortune 500 Companies. He coaches people on a daily basis. Having sold over 25 million books ( MY GOSH! that is alot of books! ) himself he doesn’t think that means he is someone who should be ‘a mentor’. His point was this:
If you are only following one mentor who you believe has your answer in all areas of business- you are surely setting yourself up for guaranteed failure. No one has ever built a billion dollar enterprise being the only person on board. A group of people, commonly referred to as a team, are what keep the heartbeat strong in the company. Each person brings their expertise.
Ladies and gentlemen, if you put all your eggs into one basket at work and you thought it would last forever- let’s change the programming- let’s go in a different direction. One job, one occupation, one stock fund, one savings account is NOT your answer.
No one can master all things. Sadly far too many leaders seek to get an overview of all things. This in turn means they are a Master at nothing.
A good company is a team effort of masters working together- and YOUR finances should be the same! The things you pour yourself into should WORK together to bring you the most profit!
When I first began in business in 1998 I sadly had no coaches, no mentors and while I did build two multi-million dollar companies the hardships and mistakes I made could have easily been remedied and used as stepping stones for greater success had I hired someone to help lead me, the leader.
I was in the habit of asking the wrong people for advise and opinions on the things I was doing. I’d ask someone who was a financial advisor or skilled in stocks and trading what they thought about business! I’d ask a web person what they thought about kitchenware- how many ways can I say “STUPID!”
This is not to incite you or make you angry- the reality is this-
If you want to be financially independent- DON’T DRINK THE KOOL-AID that society has your answer! Pay attention to WHO you are asking for advise!
As a mother of three boys, one who now runs his own company and earns 6-figures doing so, I have learned a few things about ‘blending in’ and ‘going with the status quo’ if you will. I have learned DON’T DO IT!
When I was first homeschooling some 18 years ago everyone thought I was ruining my children’s future! Now look at where my son is- he is making 6-figures, doing video development for a company, is financially independent and he’s just NOW turning 21! WOW- sounds like I screwed him up royal!
When I first ran my online business ventures I remember the negative words- no the HARRASSMENT that came my way for doing so, “You are crazy, do you know what you are doing? How can you do all that? You’ll fail.” Well here I am, debt free, I’ve made millions, I’ve lost millions and people pay me TENS OF THOUSANDS of dollars to give them advise! What an honor…… seriously. It is an honor and it still blows me away daily that I get to do this and live this kind of lifestyle….. but guess what.
When Everyone Else Was Drinking The Kool-Aid, I Was Drinking A Drink of a Different Color!
Call it rebellion, call it what you will. When everyone else said it can’t be done- I’d do it… or at least try. When someone said it is too hard, I’d pray and seek God- and He’d show me! He really would!
What we believe dictates what we do. And our actions are led, motivated, governed by what we believe. So what you know in plain terms doesn’t mean anything, it’s what you believe about what you know, or maybe, about what you don’t know, that is creating the life you now live.
Do you realize that in times of stress, times of chaos, times of change we will most often, unless we are very very careful, resort to what we are most comfortable with, what we typically do when we are most vulnerable and more than 90% of the time that means we’ll go back to repeating the activities that do not create a profit.
We drink Kool-Aid and typically, they are giving it away for free!
These are times for refusing Kool-Aid and take some strong drink! Make a new plan- change the old and in some cases- throw it out!
These are times for making millions and on the internet, folks- it’s just begging and I mean BEGGING to be earned!
These are times for being INSANELY generous with your income, OUTRAGEOUS bold in your faith and TREMENDOUSLY open hearted with people- because they need answers, they need love, they need hope and they need a new DRINK!
Drink freedom- drink being a person of a different breed- drink anything but the cultural kool-aid being passed out daily in the schools, on the news and in the media!
Step up America- your nation needs you!
