Hot-Flash Copywriting…. How to Give Your Competitors Hot Flashes When They See Your Website

I was recently watching the AWAI Bootcamp of 2007, a seminar that costs a sweet penny to attend, is typically sold out months in advance and puts out more millionaires each and every year than any other venue for copywriters.

Right now I am watching Dr. Joe Vitale, known as the Hypnotic Marketer teach on how to speak to your audience. He is teaching on how to speak on two levels, the conscious level and the subconscious level.

So as I am watching this session on DVD ( I didn’t get to the seminar last year, I had Pertussis! So the $ 2000 seminar was sent to me on DVD) as a Circle of Success student at AWAI I have access to any and all of their products… I have perks! 🙂

He began his copywriting session by saying when he relayed his goals to a TV show that was interviewing him the people in the room got HOT FLASHES when they heard his goal.

I began to think, “Wow, lets create a copywriting package that makes our competitors get hot flashes!” As a matter of fact….

There is an ocean of niches open for any copywriter to tap into . Sadly because of insecurities, fraud and other things that make people not succeed, people continue to fish in their current pond.

Joe taught that the world is a pool of customers and clients and you need to find a niche that is NOT something you are familiar with.

THINK OUTSIDE of your current cage!

BUST OPEN your current box!

How do you manipulate and create an environment that your client loves so much that he’ll give you his credit card even before he knows what you are selling?

Repeatedly as I was building my home based business between 2004 and 2007 I had people email me and call me on the phone and tell me

I want to join you! I don’t care what you are doing…. I am in!

So how does this happen? And how do you do it so successfully that your competitors will say over and over again the words I was hearing all the time as I built my business:

HOW did you do this?!

Far too often people think that if they copy the methods of other copywriters they will make more money. Joe Vitale made a lot of money when he appealed to the lust of the masses and wrote a press release about how Britney Spears must be using Hypnotic Methods in her Marketing. THAT was interesting. That was very good. His package had nothing to do with Britney Spears, but when he saw her commercial he realized she must be using hypnotic techniques because people are being drawn to her commercial and they all run to buy her perfume and her hair extensions because they dream and desire to be just like Britney Spears even if they don’t like her.

When I ran my kitchenware store from 1998-2001 I was applying this all of the time! I marketed a $ 500 kitchen mixer like Amazon.com to a group of people who hated to spend money on things, called themselves frugal and yet they bought from me over and over again, they went into debt to buy from me over and over again.

How did I do this?

I looked at what someone else was doing in a niche that had nothing to do with what I was doing and I got tips from them….. and became hugely successful.

So, what niche are you in? Lets say you in the business of selling children’s products. Rather than looking at what all the other websites and businesses are doing who market children’s products, what if you looked at what lingerie businesses are doing.

How to Sell Children’s Products Like Someone In the Lingerie Niche!

The people in the lingerie industry might use more flesh than I am comfortable with to sell their products but they also use something that is much more important. They use words that compel you to buy their products. They use words, which is COPYWRITING my friends, to urge you, draw you, give you an overwhelming need and desire to PURCHASE their products. The girls with their breasts hanging out and the perfect thighs are just there to help you resist your urge to guard your checkbook.

All resistance is taken away and before you realize it you are buying their product!

So- how do you appeal to Mommies who are guarding their checkbook and you want to sell them a $ 299 diaper bag?

You put pictures of sweet kissable lovable adorable make your breast milk let down babies on the website!

You show pictures of Moms with obedient and clean kids who are perfect and a diaper bag that is making Mom feel like she is still at the size she was before she got pregnant, actually you make her FEEL LIKE she is at a size better than that and the diaper bag is going to make her feel just as sexy and on top of her game as her lingerie did!

This my friends is called Hot-Flash Marketing… and thinking outside of the box.
